“Should we wake her? We prepared a room.”
“There’s no point. She refuses to leave his side, and spirits knows she needs some sleep after all the time she’s spent healing him.”
“They say Princess Azula shot lightning at him, is it true?”
“No, she didn’t shoot lightning at him. Princess Azula shot lightning at her.”
“And he jumped in front of it?”
“Yes.”
“…she must be someone really special to him.”
“Yes. I think she is.”

hi here are my favorite quotes from addie larue
“Blink and the years fall away like leaves.”
“There is defiance in being a dreamer.”
“Choosing a class became choosing a discipline, and choosing a discipline became choosing a career, and choosing a career became choosing a life, and how was anyone supposed to do that, when you only had one?”
“If God is so large, why build walls to hold Him in?”
“That time always ends a second before you’re ready. That life is the minutes you want minus one.”
I can’t say much else without getting really emotional or screaming but yeah I highly recommend this book to everyone :)
“Remy Laurent is laughter bottled into skin. It spills out of him at every turn.”
“Henry is like bottled lightning, unable to sit still for long, full of nervous energy…”
“Luc steps out of the dark, the way he did that night, drawing together from smoke and shadow. A storm, bottled into skin.”
The way αnti-Zυtαriαns often try to use the fact that a lot of Zutara shippers are brown teenage girls as something against Zutara always puzzles me. Because, newsflash, one half of the Zutara ship is a brown teenage girl. One would think that brown teenage girls might be capable of better understanding a brown teenage girl character than some middle-aged white men (looking at Bryke with their Book 4: Air “joke” here) may think.
But I guess that’s not true. Brown teenage girls shipping Zutara couldn’t possibly mean that they want good things for a strong character who is representation for them in media. It couldn’t possibly mean that they analyzed the symbolism, themes, character arcs, relationship arcs, and the story of ATLA overall to arrive at the conclusion of shipping Zutara. It couldn’t possibly mean that they used their critical thinking skills to come to the decision of shipping Zutara.
No, if a brown teenage girl ships Zutara, it must automatically mean that they’re just “self-inserting onto Katara to f*ck Zuko.”
Please. The disrespect and misogyny is there, and it is absolutely unacceptable. To quote Jo March in “Little Women,”
“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for.”
Here’s a thought: if you automatically dismiss the interpretations that brown teenage girls make of media as being driven by their “self-inserting desire for romance” as opposed to perhaps being driven by their critical thinking skills, maybe consider that you are viewing brown teenage girls as just fit for love, as opposed to being people also fit for using their perfectly capable minds to think.
Signed,
— A brown teenage girl
